FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What do we need to bring to playgroup? - Families are encouraged to bring along a snack for their family. We cannot share food at playgroup. Please bring a drink bottle for each of you. Children need appropriate clothing and head wear for safe outside play. A change of clothes in case of mishaps is also helpful. Feel free to go barefoot inside, but there are often prickles along our paths outside.  As playgroup does not hold sunscreen, parents are encouraged to apply prior to playgroup.

  • What sort of food can I bring to playgroup? - We have families with varied dietary requirements at Mulberry Tree Playgroup, and as such, sharing food is strongly discouraged. On any given day, we may have families with allergies and intolerances encompassing peanuts, soy, rice, dairy, and gluten. Reactions include rashes after skin contact, upset tummies and others. Given this situation, we ask that families are diligent with ensuring that children wash their hands after eating. This can prevent cross contamination.

  • What do my fees pay for? - The weekly session fees incorporate a variety of expenses. First and foremost, they go into our resources budget, to allow us to do awesome activities, and purchase new toys and equipment. A portion of your fees goes towards our lovely session leader. The remainder covers other costs associated with running a playgroup including administration costs.

  • Where is the Eco Village? - The Eco Village is located at 15 Scherger Drive, Mildura. Scherger Drive is also home to Around Again, and provides access to the Mildura Rural City Council Transfer Station. Entry is off Ontario Avenue, opposite the Mildura Base Public Hospital. As you drive in you'll see the Eco Village sign on your right and car park marked by a beautiful mural of birds.

  • What can I do to get involved?  - Mulberry Tree Playgroup is run by a volunteer committee. New committee members are greeted with love. We hold our AGM in November and welcome a new committee each year. Volunteers are love in motion! Even if you don’t want to join to committee, you can always speak to a committee member about helping out. Fresh ideas and strong drive are always welcome!  We love to foster a strong sense of community around our playgroup. We have regular Village Days, where extended families and like-minded folks can get together for some fun.
